El Paraiso Azul

Elly made the stay for me. She’s kind, helpful, and knows so much about nature. The rooms are spacious, clean, and have great views, and wildlife turns up in the trees near the building. It’s such a peaceful place that I kept extending my stay. I’ll definitely come back, and I really loved it here.

We stayed five nights and had everything we needed in the large, comfortable top room. It’s reached by a spiral staircase, and felt private, with wonderful views. Eli and Alex, the young couple who run this family hotel, were so friendly and helpful. Eli also shared places to visit and eat that we wouldn’t have found out about otherwise. Breakfast by the pool each morning was very good and just the right amount. They also offer laundry for a reasonable price. We wish you both lots of success.

We only spent one night in the top room on our honeymoon, and wished we’d booked longer. From up there, you’re above the canopy, with plenty of wildlife to see and geckos and birds calling. It’s a great base for the restaurants around Ochochal and Uvita, too, and very good value in a lovely location.

You can watch birds and monkeys from the terrace, and the room was roomy and comfortable. We also really enjoyed the breakfast. The staff were so friendly and interesting to talk with, and we learned a lot about Costa Rican culture and everyday life. It’s nicely located in Ojochal, and we’d highly recommend staying here.
