Hotel Evasión

Ojochal is a quiet, peaceful place to spend a few days, and there are restaurants a short walk away. The beach and Uvita are about 10-20 minutes by car for more sightseeing. We didn’t use the pool, but it looked clean and nice. The staff are friendly, and I’d absolutely recommend staying here again. We had four very restful nights at this beautiful, brand new hotel, with modern, squeaky-clean rooms. The huge bed had comfortable linens, the AC was cold, and the modern bathroom had a big walk-in shower with hot water. There’s also a small but efficient, well-equipped kitchen. We had everything we could ask for. I’m not sure if our rate was discounted because it’s a new property, but the value was far better than anywhere else we’ve stayed in Costa Rica so far.

A few directions for finding the place: Waze took us the wrong way, so stay on the main road with Potz bistro and Exotica. The road there is paved, with great restaurants nearby and excellent coffee. We were the first guests at Hotel Evasion, which has just eight rooms and feels almost like a luxury hotel. Our room had two bedrooms with king beds, a kitchen, two bathrooms and pool access, with a view of the pool from both bedrooms. There was plenty of wardrobe space, convenient outlets, and even a corkscrew. The AC worked well, and both bedrooms had ceiling fans. The entrance is secured at night, with 24-hour onsite security or help. Laundry service was available for $10 per 10 pieces. Staff were friendly and helped with our bags, and we could easily ask for extra towels. The daytime receptionist spoke English pretty well, especially Dariel. We’d stay again if we’re back in the area.

We found Hotel Evasión a pleasant place to stay and would recommend it. The rooms were very clean and great, and the owner and staff were friendly. We stayed two nights.

The hotel is surrounded by nature, and its beautiful pool was perfect for unwinding after a day out exploring. Our rooms were spacious, comfortable, tastefully decorated and impeccably clean. From the moment we arrived, Karol was kind, attentive and helpful, always smiling and happy to give directions or recommend and help arrange tours. She and the team made the stay special. I’d love to return.
