We really felt like guests in someone’s home during our six nights at Villas En El Bosque. We’ve visited CR a dozen times and stayed in every corner of the country, and this is honestly one of the nicest places we’ve stayed. The family who runs it is what makes it so special. Vanessa was always friendly and helpful, greeting us with a smile, and Grandma and her daughter pitched in when things got busy. Nicolas served an excellent breakfast every day, with a view over the jungle river valley and all the wildlife right there. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a couch and an open-air kitchenette. We loved having coffee on the balcony in the morning and evening, looking out at the valley. The pool was clean and quiet, with a good balance of sun and shade. Karaoke night and pizza night with guests, friends, family, and locals were incredible. Their dog Rio joined our walks to the reserve next door. Thanks, Nicolas and Vanessa, for a wonderful stay!

Breakfast was a great choice here. The fruit was super fresh and the eggs excellent. I’d especially recommend the French toast with pineapple foam and a mimosa. There’s a nice deck looking out over the jungle and ocean.

The staff are some of the kindest people in the community, and they work hard every day to make sure guests have a great time. Villas en el Bosque also puts on fun community events, including weekly pizza night. You’ll get a unique experience in one of the most beautiful places in the world, with stunning views, delicious food, and a multicultural feel. Best skip it if those things matter to you.

We had a delicious lunch, and Nicolas went out of his way to make us feel welcome. The patio is gorgeous, almost like a treehouse just above the canopy, with the ocean visible beyond. The decor is charming, mixing a few French touches with a Costa Rican feel. Such a lovely meal.

The view from our villa was breathtaking, over lush forest with a glimpse of the ocean in the distance. From the patio each morning, we were lucky enough to spot Capuchin monkeys, bright Scarlet Macaws, lizards, and little hummingbirds nearby. Villas en el Bosque gave our family of four the space and comfort we needed to unwind and enjoy Costa Rica. The owners were incredibly welcoming, and the calm surroundings made the stay memorable. It was a peaceful place where we could relax and take in nature.
