Juancarlos made this place stand out for me. When I arrived by bus, I was unsure about walking alone to the hotel as a solo female traveler who’d never been to Puerto Jiménez. Juancarlos offered to pick me up himself, then arranged and paid for a female taxi driver to collect me so I’d feel at ease. It was such a kind gesture and a lovely start to my stay. I used the hotel again on my way back. He was lovely then too, flexible about check-in time and making sure I had what I needed. The rooms have clean towels, comfortable beds, air conditioning, and fans. An amazing man running an amazing hotel!

The garden was beautiful, with fruit trees and lovely flowers, and the hosts made every guest feel welcome and listened to. My friends and I had a great experience here this past week. The room was cozy and cool, with comfortable mattresses, a secure building and rooms, and a kitchen on site. It’s easy to get to the beach, rental cars, and local airport. Main Street is also within walking distance, with a grocery store, souvenir shops, restaurants, and bars. I’d recommend this for all ages and will definitely return when I’m back in Puerto Jimenez.

Our group of five spent two nights at Cabinas Tropicales in January 2025. Jean Carlos, the manager, was knowledgeable, helpful, and very patient. He arranged a Corcovado park tour, yoga class, kayaking trip, and bike tour with companies in town for us. The hostal has a useful kitchen and good facilities. It’s in a quiet part of town, with a good market just down the road. Highly recommend.

John Carlos was the best part of our stay, super welcoming and helpful, and made the whole visit a 10/10. The place itself was clean and comfortable, close to the airport and the beach. We had an amazing stay.
