Hotel Aldea Casa de los Mariscos

We had a breakfast voucher from the other hotel where we were staying, but the waitress was really unfriendly to us, maybe to tourists generally. Another couple came in for the hotel breakfast only five minutes after us, and they were offered more options than we were.

The location is very good, the price is affordable, and the beds were really comfortable. The shower smelled bad, and I think WiFi access was an issue because of its limited range and our corner room.

The Pacific is just across the street, so the location is perfect. Aldea Pura Vida is a beautiful, lively and cosy Hostel/Hotel. The food was tasty, the rooms were clean, and Alejandro (hopefully I spelled that right) was sooo nice. He makes awesome Cocktails and gives you a great time.

I've stayed in hostels and hotels in over 60 countries, and this was the worst. It felt like a health hazard and was incredibly overpriced. The pictures are misleading: guests stay in a garage-like hostel down the street. The sheets, pillows, and towels hadn't been changed after the last guests, just refolded to look fresh. When I asked them to remove a very large poisonous spider, they laughed at me, although they did remove it. The next morning, a guy asked how things were, then blamed me for having a bad experience because I hadn't gone down the sketchy street at night to report another issue after they'd laughed at me about the spider. He then insisted I leave a good review. Breakfast made my stomach hurt. Avoid this place if you can.
