Grand Park Manuel Antonio

The only good part of our stay was the friendly staff. The hotel didn’t look like the pictures on booking.com, and despite what the name suggests, it’s in Quepos, not Manuel Antonio. The rooms aren’t properly isolated, so geckos get inside and poop on the bed. When we arrived, the sheets had white stains or gecko poop. The toilet and shower were outside. The hygiene was bad overall, and the experience was really disappointing. Not recommended.

We saw about six monkeys around the pool and the bar’s eating area. One of the women serving breakfast fed them too, which was adorable. Breakfast and the monkeys helped make up for the somewhat dated room. There was plenty of parking behind a gate you open with a key fob, which was really nice. The entrance sign faces only one direction, though, and we missed it on our first try. It’s not a bad place if you don’t mind an older room.

It did the job for a night, but I wouldn’t book it for longer. Our AC never cooled the room properly, which might explain why there was a fan for guests. There was just one pillow on the bed, the restroom was always dark because its bulb was missing, and the restroom door wouldn’t close. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Seeing monkeys around the property was the fun part. It really felt like you get what you pay for.

The staff are super nice, answer questions promptly, and make the best breakfast. It’s an adults-only hotel, and I’d highly recommend it. The main issue is the disrepair, especially in the lobby, which really needs renovation. Also, you can only see the main hotel sign when approaching from the south.
