Hotel Verde Mar Direct Beach Access

The beds made for a rough night, with very thin sheets, flat pillows and too few of them. Bedding could use a real upgrade. Still, Hotel Verde Mar is a solid choice if you care most about location. You’re right on a beautiful beach, and it’s an easy 10-15 minute walk to Manuel Antonio National Park. The rooms were clean and a decent size, and the property was what it claimed to be. Parking on the street is a little odd but manageable. This isn’t a luxury stay, and the amenities are modest, so set your expectations accordingly. For beach access and proximity to the park, it does the job.

We arrived to find no towels, but that was sorted out quickly. There wasn’t a safe in our room, just a lock box, so I was glad I’d brought my own lock. The location is excellent for a short walk to the beach, business district and national Park. We had a good shower and a comfortable bed, and the pool was nice. The paid breakfast was good too.

The ocean was beautiful and clean, right in our backyard, and we could walk to the park, restaurants and shops. Our room was very clean, and the common areas were decorated beautifully. Service and LOCATION were definite highlights. We had first booked the cheapest bunk-bed room, then changed our minds; Randal gave us comfortable upgrade options. The staff were so welcoming and kind, especially Randall and Erick. A sloth likes to hang out at the hotel, and you might get a close-up look at the little friend. Right by the beach, with a clean, air-conditioned room and good value for the money. It’s not fancy, but the location is amazing. The animals are a fun bonus too, sloths hanging around and monkeys coming and going as they please.
