Sunrise House

Cesar Vargas was a warm, professional, and genuinely caring host. Expedia's poor customer service made it unnecessarily hard for us to get in touch the day before check-in, but Cesar found a way to contact me directly, and from then on everything went smoothly. He welcomed my wife and me into his home to show us the property. The level of care was what I’d expect at a much pricier place, but rarely get. During our week there, an apartment issue came up and Cesar had it fixed immediately, without delay or excuses. The apartment itself was clean and spacious, with a small kitchen that had everything we needed to cook. The bathroom was clean but could use updates. The shower was large, with a tiled bench, and its water heater worked very well. The bedroom was roomy, though the mattress and sofa had worn springs and should be replaced. The price was very low compared with similar Quepos rentals, so we thought that trade-off was well worth it. There’s a large outdoor rock garden and sitting area, but no chairs or table, which makes it hard to use. A small investment in some outdoor furniture would make that nice space much more appealing.

There’s plenty of privacy here, and the house is stunning, updated, and clean. The big, cozy rooms have TVs and make you feel right at home. It has everything you need. The location is handy for banks and supermarkets, but still secluded enough to feel surrounded by Costa Rican nature. Expect monkeys outside the house every day! The owner is so friendly and helpful. I could stay here forever if I could.

Cesar was quick to reply and very helpful, so I’d recommend contacting the host if you have questions. We had a good stay at Cesars House. The kitchen supplies were a bit limited: there were only two forks for three people, and no towels at first. When we asked, Cesar gave us three more towels.

The room was quiet and had strong internet and A/C. There’s a nice covered outdoor sitting area where you can relax. The property is in a quiet spot just off the main road to Manuel Antonio, within convenient walking distance of Quepos town, a gym, convenience stores, pharmacies, and restaurants. I’ll book here again next time I’m in Quepos.
