We stayed five nights at Casa Federico in the jungle room, which had the best sea view we’ve ever had from a room. Ray, the owner, was incredibly helpful. He introduced us to his sister Maria, who runs Mary's rental on Manuel Antonio beach. We used her top-quality services there, and found them hardworking and very trustworthy. Every day we saw lots of wildlife from our room: hummingbirds, three kinds of monkeys, lots of scarlet macaws, and big iguanas. Ray also helped us arrange a boat trip for the Mangrove monkeys tour. We loved it, saw lots of wildlife, butterflies, birds, and monkeys, and even spotted a crocodile. Thanks so much for all your help. We highly recommend Casa Federico and will definitely stay again. For the price, I should have booked a hotel suite. The location was difficult to find, and the map never took us directly there. My 76-year-old father and I stayed in the two-bedroom suite, and we couldn’t get taxis except through the driver Rey, the host, recommended. He was excellent and honest, but often unavailable. Uber was the most reliable way back from manuel antonio. The directions caused a fair amount of stress and arguments with taxi drivers. Walking wasn’t an option for my father because the road to the accommodation was steep, narrow, and dark. There was construction for a new hotel that blocked a fair part of the view. Work started at 6am, with a long, loud horn that woke my father every morning. The AC also didn’t cool the common area and kitchen well enough. Any tiny crumbs were immediately covered by thousands of ants.

The room was open to the ocean, so we fell asleep to the waves and woke to birds. It felt just like the paradise you imagine. We stayed in the Jungle Room and loved it. The view from the two hanging chairs was amazing, and the ocean was beautiful. We also saw squirrel monkeys, scarlet macaws, and more wildlife right from the room. If we come back to Quepos, we’ll be looking to stay here again.

The ocean view room was stunning, clean, and well organized. Marina Bay is just a minute away by car. Ray was an excellent, informative host and helped us book a tour of the national park. My husband and I had a great stay at Casa Federico for our honeymoon.

The Jungle room was spacious, with a stunning view from the two hanging chairs. There’s no breakfast on site, but the kitchen and apartment amenities more than made up for that. The bedroom had AC, while the living room had two fans. The hilltop location was peaceful, though the walk to the Marina takes about five minutes and to Quepos around 10-15 minutes. If you’re a light sleeper, bring a sleep mask and earplugs. You can hear activity above, especially when the people upstairs start doing something that sounds like rolling dice mixed with Jenga. Even so, the value for money was excellent, and I left Casa Frederico very satisfied. Rey, the host, was kind and helpful from the start. Before I arrived, he sent useful tips on WhatsApp and was always available. He arranged a guide for my Manuel Antonio National Park tour and made sure I got to the meeting point. Check-in was easy, with arrival as early as noon, and check-out was just as simple. Payment was flexible, and I chose PayPal.
