Rinconcito Lodge

There’s plenty to do right at Rinconcito Lodge, and the restaurant’s food and drinks were phenomenal, fresh, and delicious. We had a peaceful, serene stay near Rincón de la Vieja National Park, surrounded by that national park feel. I was there for my bachelorette party with family and friends, and the staff made us feel welcome from the start. Moses, who was at the front desk for most of our stay, was extremely helpful. He and David shared good information about local tours and which parts of Liberia were safe to visit. For one hot springs tour, the hotel arranged for Danny to come along so we’d feel safe, which made us more comfortable. I can’t recommend this lodge enough, and I’ll definitely return with my husband!

We had our own terrace facing the forest, with a hammock and rocking chairs, and the room was wonderful. The place feels like a little oasis, and the staff are super friendly. At check-in they gave us a great rundown of nearby parks, quieter places to visit, and the thermal spots locals use compared with the bigger ticket places. Both the Santa Maria and Las Pilas entrances were about a 25 minute drive away. We didn’t see any mosquitoes, though the doors and windows have screens. We never turned on the air conditioning.

The beds were comfortable, and it was quiet, with friendly staff and an easy check-in. The property is beautiful, the rooms were clean, and the wifi was fast. Breakfast and the on-site restaurant were amazing, and it’s close to the National Park. The pictures don’t really do it justice. There are hammocks, a pool, and a hiking trail, too!

We weren’t staying at Rinconcito Lodge, but got lost on the way to a waterfall and stopped for help. The receptionist was so helpful that I had to leave a review. She marked a map for us and gave us lots of useful directions, including which roads to avoid. Since mountain reception can be unreliable, she let us use the hotel wifi to download Google Maps, which I’d forgotten to do even though I had a data plan. We also used the restrooms, and the kids played with the dogs while we asked questions. The grounds looked lovely and peaceful. I’d definitely stay here.
