Las Olas Beach Bar

The drinks and atmosphere were nice, but the meal left me hungry. My husband's fish tacos were okay. I ordered the Pork Belly tacos, and the pork was so tough I couldn't chew it, even after taking it out of the taco. They were awful.

Watching the sun go down over the bay with a cocktail and your toes in the sand is amazing. There are hammocks and loungers, too, and the pizza is excellent with really friendly service. It is pricey, though Samara has gotten much more expensive over the years we've been coming.

The tacos were especially good, and the cocktails were great too. We also liked the Happy Hour deal. Our hotel staff had strongly recommended Las Olas for food and drinks, and the quick, friendly service made us glad we came. Our server looked after us really well. We went on a Saturday hoping to catch the live music we'd heard about, but there wasn't any that night, which was disappointing. Still, the beach setting and service made for a lovely evening.

Our boys' first question when we said we were coming back to Samara this year was whether they'd see Freddy again. He's become like family to us, as have the rest of the staff. He's a wonderful waiter, always glad to help us with Spanish, suggest local activities, or just chat. This is our fourth year here, and Las Olas has become our living room. The kids play soccer on the beach soccer field while we relax with the delicious food and atmosphere. It's hard to explain what makes the place special, you have to experience it.
