Dunn Inn

The cafe was a nice spot to relax for a while, and breakfast was free. The bed and linens were comfortable, and the shower was clean and warm. The hotel itself is artsy, beautiful, quiet, and clean, with friendly, helpful staff. The location is excellent for walking to downtown, even at night. It's a perfect one-night stay in San Jose before exploring the rest of Costa Rica. I'd definitely book here again.

The architecture and cafe are super cute, and the staff were excellent and so accommodating. The rooms are small and simple but comfortable. It's a simple hotel with soul, and I had such a nice time. I'd stay again without question.

The drive from the airport into the city was a nightmare, taking more than two hours because of traffic. Our street-facing room was also noisy late into the night. There's a casino across the street that draws shady characters, and many are loud, so we couldn't fall asleep until the early hours. Apart from that, you're all good. The hotel is right in central San Jose, with excellent service and well-appointed rooms. Breakfast was simple but delicious. We drove there, and the private, secure parking was free, which was a bonus. There are good eateries within walking distance, including Dunn Inn's Italian restaurant and small cafe. I hadn't known what to expect in San Jose. The city looks beat up, but it's generally clean, and you can tell it was beautiful once. Looking back, I wish I had more time to explore.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and they moved us to another room without any trouble. Breakfast was good, and the atmosphere was nice. I didn't feel safe here at night, so get Ubers wherever you can. Don't take a street-facing room. The Casio opposite stays open all night and is really loud, especially in room 9. Rooms farther from the street are much nicer and a little quieter.
