Hotel Quinta Avenida

For one night it was fine, but I wouldn't stay longer. The staff were helpful, while the room and amenities were very basic. There's a water jug downstairs by check-in for filling bottles, and the hotel is an 8-minute walk from the Atlantico Norte bus station.

The neighborhood felt a bit rough late at night, though it was fine during the day, with plenty of interesting places in walking distance. I recommend walking to the Central Market for lunch and shopping. My room was large, had a nice view, and the water was very hot. They were kind enough to store our suitcases for a few hours when we had a stopover on the way home two weeks later. A great place for one night.

We had a good stay overall. The price was affordable, the place was comfortable and bug-free, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, so we felt looked after. The breakfast staff were friendly too and fun to talk with. Outside noise from cars and honking carried into the night. Parking might be difficult when it's crowded. We left our rental car on the street out front, and in the morning found a small dent on the back. That night, a small group of guys had gathered right behind it and were leaning on the car. It's not really the hotel's fault, but it's something to know about the area.

The room was large and great, and the location was perfect. The staff are absolutely fabulous. I highly recommend this hotel.
