I had a bad experience here and won't book again. At check-in, they wanted me to write down every credit card detail, including the security code, for the deposit. I raised the concern that the hotel could use those details illegally and said they couldn't ask people to write that information down. The staff responded with an arrogant attitude. Somehow I was then called rude for being upset about it. The woman manager especially seemed to have no manners, which doesn't match the hotel's claim in a reply here that its staff are known for being professional. I also arrived early and felt they were holding an available room until 3 pm. Later I found a previous review on the booking site describing the same situation, so I wasn't the only one who experienced it.

I was a little uneasy after reading other Booking.com reviews, but the stay turned out pretty good. The price was good for such a convenient location. Our room had AC, a mini fridge, a ceiling fan, hot showers, and a comfy bed. The view was of a street and an abandoned building. Breakfast was just okay.

The beds were really comfortable, the rooms were nice, and breakfast was delicious. The staff were friendly, and when their English wasn't quite enough, we had a good laugh trying to communicate through translation apps. It's close to everything, too.

Hotel Cultura Plaza is clean and in a great location. My room was spotless, and the staff were so friendly. I'm going to miss them.

I never got to stay, so I can't really rate the room. Storms forced our plane to divert, which meant we couldn't arrive on time. I contacted the hotel to move the booking to the next day, but they declined. I then asked for credit toward a later date, when we'd be leaving Costa Rica, and they declined that too. They wouldn't discuss or negotiate anything. It was disappointing, and this is the first hotel we've encountered with no flexibility or understanding in this kind of situation. Be aware if you book here.
