My wife and I had a very unpleasant stay. She had accidentally booked a room with bunk beds, which were too small and uncomfortable, so we politely asked if the owner would let us cancel the second night. He responded with hostility and seemed unwilling to offer basic customer service, though he eventually agreed to the cancellation. Two days later, my wife left an honest but negative review. Three days after checkout, the owner contacted us saying the room had been damaged, but couldn't explain what the damage was. We both have integrity and would gladly pay if we'd accidentally damaged something, but nothing was damaged. Later, he claimed we had cut one of his mattresses. That accusation, made after checkout, felt absurd and retaliatory. Be cautious about leaving a negative review here, as the owner may retaliate. We’ll pray for him and hope he rethinks these business practices.

This was a really strange and frustrating experience. I was standing out front on a busy road, with ropes blocking off the parking lot and street, and called to ask where I could park. Apparently the hotel has no parking, and there was nowhere for me to leave the car. The man on the phone was rude and hostile, hung up while I was asking about parking and the price, and wouldn't tell me how much a room cost. They say they're pet friendly, and I was traveling with a small dog. But he couldn't tell me the fee unless I went to reception so they could look at the dog. Very odd. Avoid.

It has a cozy, homey feel, and there was an option to pay a little more for a mini fridge in the room. It's dog friendly, and breakfast is available for an extra cost. Traffic can make it a bit loud, though that only bothered us because we're light sleepers. The staff weren't around much, but we didn't need them often. Apparently visiting professors often stay here.

A cozy overnight stop on our way to Manuel Antonio. Breakfast was modest but tasty, with eggs, toast, beans, cheese, and coffee. The Wi-Fi speed was okay.

Really good value and a great place to stay. The staff were wonderful, and the location was great. Clean and comfortable too. I'd definitely recommend it!
