Glampling Nubes de Monteverde

The garden and surroundings were wonderful, with beautiful mountains and jungle in a clearing in a small valley. We spent a few days here in December with my mother. Our host was very kind and attentive, and the people and staff were welcoming. Breakfast was delicious, especially the home-grown coffee. If you’re looking to get away from the outside world, this is the place. Greetings to Carlos from Hungary, from a mother and son.

The setting is lovely, with a park-like feel and beautiful views surrounded by nature. It’s scenic and quiet, but the stay itself was very disappointing. The bathroom had mold and there was hair in the bed. The drive via Monteverde is extremely steep and the place feels very remote. If the owner isn’t there, check-in is self-service, and the only staff member on site didn’t speak English, which made communication difficult. Dinner has to be ordered ahead. The brochure praised the food, but our pizza was mostly dough and burnt. My companion became sick and had to vomit. At night the dome got very cold, with no way to heat it, and everything became damp. We left after one night and moved to another accommodation.

Carlos was so welcoming and friendly, and the fresh food tasted great. We had a warm, comfortable tiny house, and it was quiet too. What an unusual and exciting stay. So glad we found this place.

The surroundings were beautiful, the food was delicious, and we slept very comfortably. The host and staff were kind and helpful throughout our two-night stay. The room was well heated despite the cold nights. We did have to adjust the shower a little to get hot water at first, but it was fine after that. Getting to the village center by car means going up a very steep hill, which could be difficult if you’re not used to it. There’s a longer, easier route too. Some tourist buses don’t come to this area, so check ahead or ask the staff, who were very supportive whenever we had questions. We’d definitely recommend the place.
