Casa Haydee Monteverde

The garden right outside the room was my favorite part. It draws all sorts of birds, and it’s clear the hosts care about the plants, wildlife and natural setting around them. The property is immaculate and well kept, and the hosts are warm and welcoming. I appreciate staying somewhere where people take pride in their home and town. I was here for three nights to visit the nearby nature preserves. The location is just beyond the main tourist areas, and you can walk to the preserves. It’s peaceful and a good fit if you want to enjoy Monteverde for its nature and sustainability, away from other tourists. Five stars!

Senora Haydee and her family took such good care of us during our two nights. The room was lovely and clean, with a sweet little yard out front, and breakfast in the morning was a nice bonus. We absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend it :)

I travel to Monteverde often and have tried a lot of places, but now I book Casa Haydee ahead because it has what I need. The room is beautifully finished, impeccably kept, and has proper blackout curtains. The bedding is cozy on chilly nights, and the breakfast is better than anywhere I could eat out. The plants, birds and quiet right in the center of town are incredible. I can walk wherever I need to go and still find some peace. Their new outdoor passageway also keeps the rain off while I go for breakfast. Once I brought friends and we ordered the BBQ. We talked with Kenneth for hours about Monteverde’s history while he served his famous chicharrones. Kenneth has also helped me book any tour or adventure I wanted, without hassle or extra stress, and at the best price. Thanks, Casa Haydee, for being my home away from home!

Seeing the timeline brought back memories of some wonderful places, and Casa Haydee is definitely one of them. I stayed two nights in November 2021, and I’m glad there’s still time to say thank you. The room was cozy, authentic and very clean. The beds kept us warm on windy Monteverde nights. The TV was ready to connect, though I didn’t use it. I preferred the peaceful garden and watching the birds. Some nice places are within walking distance, while others may require a car. The service felt caring and homelike. La señora Haydee welcomed me with homemade bread and fruit jelly, then made a delicious breakfast. Kenneth gave me the information and bookings I needed for tours, restaurants and the rest of my stay. Everyone in the family I met was kind and helpful. A lovely family business. And you were right, the one at the fire place is still my most genuine Costa Rican experience. Thanks to all of you. A lovely place and family.
