Hotel con Corazón Monteverde

We really enjoyed our short two-night stay at the Corazon. The Dutch couple managing it were interesting and very open about the hotel's values, how it works with the community, and shares its amenities. Rooms were lovely, with views toward the Cloud Forest, and we got a friendly welcome at reception. Breakfast is the only meal served, though drinks are available and coffee is on tap. There are plenty of good restaurants in St Elena, a short walk away. Uber’s are scarce, but the hotel arranged a taxi to the Cloud Forest for 8KCRC, and a “greeter” sorted out the return ride for 7KCRC. It's a modern, well-appointed hotel.

We stayed six nights and loved having somewhere to read, write, and drink coffee after an excursion. The hotel offers good suggestions for places to eat and local tours. Hotel Con Corazón has a simple elegance, lovely views of town, and dynamic weather, with the town only a few minutes' walk down the hill. The hosts are friendly, and the breakfasts are fabulous. The hotel supports living wages for its workers and has a wider community focus, including education partnerships and mentoring. Staying here is a chance to experience that vision.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and modern, and the staff were super friendly. Breakfast was awesome, and I'd recommend the hotel if you're passing through town. There's no AC, but the town is always cool and windy, and the ceiling fan was more than enough. No fridge in the room either. I rarely use one, but wanted to pass that along.

It's a cozy place with nice views and an easy walk to downtown restaurants. The design details around the property are striking, and it's nicely decorated. The hosts are friendly and make an effort to get to know you. I especially liked the shared lobby, with books, board games, crafts, and free coffee. The front desk was helpful arranging our shuttles, tours, and taxi. Our schedule was too tight for us to learn more about their work in education and community building, which was a shame. Highly recommend.
