Monteverde Lodge by Böëna

What made our stay especially memorable was the staff, who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and special. The included breakfast was so good and filling, and we returned to the restaurant for several meals because everything was delicious. We still talk about the ceviche! Our room was immaculate and had everything we wanted, with an incredible view from the deck. Toucans, capuchins and all sorts of birds came by. Monteverde Lodge is beautiful, peaceful and conveniently placed for town and the activities we had planned. Top notch service, and we'd absolutely return. Muchas Gracias!!

The location was ideal, just beyond the town centre, so it was peaceful but still an easy walk to everything, including a large grocery store down the block. Our family of four loved Monteverde Lodge, though three nights felt too short. The rooms were spacious, immaculate and well appointed. The grounds are beautiful, and the heated pool is small but lovely. It may be less relaxing when kids are whooping and playing, as my boys were. We ate nearly every meal at El Jardin despite the many good options in town. The varied menu was delicious and even worked for our pickiest eater. Most of all, the service was warm, friendly and helpful. We'd stay again in a heartbeat. Thanks for making our time in Monteverde even more magical. Pura vida!

The concierge set up a great trip to the Monte Verdi Reserve, with a taxi both ways. Town is an easy walk downhill, though we took a taxi back up. I could happily have stayed a week. Our room had a little balcony over the forest, and monkeys and coatis came through the gardens. There's a small pool with enough sunbeds. We also enjoyed the restaurant, where the food was lovely and reasonably priced for a hotel.

The grounds are lovely and spacious, and the onsite restaurant is good. Staff were pleasant, and town is a short walk away even though the setting feels quiet and close to nature. My one small gripe was a hallway light that seemed to stay on all the time, so the room wasn't as dark as I prefer. Pretty minor, though.
