Hotel del Bosque

We had a great time outdoors. The place has games and a screened-in workout and court area, and the food and service were great. Some rooms feel quite rustic, while others are more modern.

By the time I got here on days five and six of my Costa Rica trip, I was ready to leave. This was probably the worst of the three places we stayed during our seven-day EF tours trip, and I blame EF for booking it, though the hotels should do better. There were ants, gnats, and another bug I couldn’t identify in the shower. The hot water stopped while I was showering, and the toilet quit working on the second night. My bed was dirty, the sheets were stained, and I found a spider in the bed the first night. The bathroom was about the size of an airplane restroom. Wifi wouldn’t connect in my room, the sink leaked, and room service was a joke. They didn’t give me clean towels. Instead, they rolled up the towel I’d used the night before and set it out as if it were fresh. On checkout morning, I closed my suitcase and found ants on it. The food was okay. At that point in the trip, nothing compared with food at home.

My daughter said this was her favorite place we stayed. The eco-friendly lodge and cabins were wonderful.

I stayed here on a tour. The room was small, and it was full of roaches coming from the AC.
