Bohemia Experience

The location gave me a little of everything: the beach is close, there’s a grocery store next door, and the setting feels calm and luxurious, away from the busy main street. I loved waking to birds and monkeys while still being only steps from the ocean. Getting around takes some thought. The road to Bohemia has a very steep slope, so I wouldn’t suggest arriving by car or motorcycle. I’d take a taxi there, then rent an ATV. The owner arranged mine, and the rental company brought it right to the parking lot, which made things easy. You can walk around, but the heat and hills get tiring. An ATV makes exploring much easier and gives you a lot more freedom. I was a bit nervous about my first solo trip, but the owner was always responsive and answered my WhatsApp questions within minutes. That reassurance made a real difference. Bohemia costs a little more than other places, but to me the peace of mind was worth it. When I needed something booked or organized, I just asked and they handled it, so I could relax instead of worrying about logistics. The breakfasts were delicious and felt authentic, prepared by a local. Bohemia really shaped my Costa Rica trip. I’d recommend it especially to someone traveling alone for the first time who wants a safe, easygoing stay.

Breakfast was one of the best parts of my five days at Bohemia Experience. Each morning there was something different and delicious, and I looked forward to it. The staff were kind and helpful, and the host was wonderful about making sure things went well throughout my stay. The bungalow is tucked into the jungle, so I felt close to the wildlife and woke up to monkeys. The space is cozy, stylish, spotless, and full of thoughtful details. The amenities made it comfortable, too. It’s peaceful but still convenient for getting to what you need. I had such a lovely stay and would happily recommend Bohemia Experience for a memorable getaway. I’d love to return.

Bianca the cat was lovely company, and the rooms and views were incredible. It’s quite a climb up the hill, so you really need a 4x4, though the road isn’t hard once you know it.

This is my second stay at Bohemia Experience, and I’m sure it won’t be my last. The pool stays clear, the AC in the rooms is cold, and the food is fresh and really tasty. I’ve visited in both dry and rainy season, and both were beautiful. The rooms, pool, food, AC, Wifi, and wildlife all stand out in Santa Teresa. Even the towels and bedding smell fresh and lovely. Breakfast is served in the morning, and the kitchen and dining area are always clean and ready to use. I loved sitting with fresh juice and watching the waves. You’ll probably see monkeys, butterflies, kitties, and maybe a dog or two. There’s Wifi in the main area and separate Wifi in the rooms. I’ve stayed at other places in Santa Teresa, but nothing compares for me. Places along the main strip can be loud, while this spot sits far enough up the Santa teresa hillside that nights are silent apart from crickets. I didn’t hear trucks or motorcycles. The beach is only a few minutes away by car, though you may end up wanting to stay here the whole time. Thanks, Chakib!
