The pool and waterslide were a huge hit with the kids, and the house felt genuinely private. With the landscaping and backyard setup, you’d never guess you were in a neighborhood. We stayed 10 nights in Costa Rica with six adults and four kids, ages 4-11. The house was spotless, well equipped, and had beautiful bedrooms and outdoor living spaces. Getting around Hacienda Pinilla was convenient. Stay in Tamarindo managed the property and took care of everything we needed. Marilyn, our house staff member, was amazing. We literally cried when we said goodbye. You can’t go wrong with this house!

My favorite part was walking to the beach for meditation. It’s a short walk from Casa Bonita, and the sunsets were glorious. I loved exploring the rock formations and the pools left by the receding tide. The house was just the getaway I needed, beautifully furnished and stocked with all the amenities. I love cooking, so we stocked up the kitchen, and also drove to the nearby Beach Club and into Tamarindo for meals. Highly recommended!
We were a family group of about 13, visiting for my uncle’s birthday, and the trip was spectacular. We spent most of our time at the villa, where we hired local chef Sebastián. The food was amazingly delicious, and the service and hospitality were impeccable. Property management communicated well, arranged transportation, and provided daily housekeeping. Angelica was a delight. She cleaned thoroughly, made breakfast every day, and made sure our requests were taken care of. The house is spacious, with a bathroom in each room, plus a little casita in back that could work as a guesthouse. It has what you need, including a washer and dryer, blender, plenty of gathering space, and a backyard gazebo and dining area. The pool was great and the slide was fun, though there were bugs in the water at night. The whole property is beautiful, with vegetation all around that makes it feel like a jungle. We even saw monkeys in the trees. There’s a bike provided, and you can rent a golf cart too. It’s in a nice, growing neighborhood near the JW Marriott. The beach facilities there are a short ride away. The drive from the front gate to the house is a journey, so you’ll need a car or car service. I tried Uber, but it didn’t work. Stock up on groceries before you arrive because nearby markets are pricey and may not have everything. We stopped at Walmart on the way from the airport, but I still had to go into Tamarindo, about 20 minutes away, for a few things. The house was worth every penny, and we’d recommend it.
The house and location were beautiful, with a spacious layout and lovely decor. There was a small issue with the Casita and it was addressed, but unfortunately we couldn’t use it during our stay.
