Casa Vista

This Spanish Colonial home was a joy to relax in, with terracotta tile floors and lovely polished wood ceilings, trim, and fixtures. Set on a hill above Tamarindo, it took about 10 minutes to walk to town and the beach, and the elevation brought in lovely sea breezes. The divine pool sits within tropical gardens, making a private paradise overlooking the Pacific. It was a pleasure to soak up the Pura Vida spirit of Costa Rica :)

There were great views, good amenities, fast WiFi/internet, and a great location. The road up the hill is a bit lumpy, so take care driving. We had an awesome stay. Vacation rental management companies that aren't reliable are also common in Costa Rica, which can amplify any reported problems. Water supply issues seem standard for the Tamarindo region. There is an operational 10,000 gallon supply buffer tank, which should keep the water flowing for at least a week.

We really enjoyed our visit. It's a cute little house with a nice pool and patio in the backyard for relaxing. The A/C units and wifi worked well. Shops and restaurants are an easy walk away, but far enough that the place stays peaceful and quiet.

We were left with the wrong key, so after a full day of flying we had to wait outside at 10 PM until someone let us in. Then the house had no water for almost 5 days. The agent kept promising to meet us and never showed. Once the water came back, sewage backed up into the showers, and the master bathroom toilet leaked onto the tile every day. After we argued with the agent, he refunded 1/3 of our money. We still weren't satisfied, emailed the owner, and got no response. This was the worst vacation ever.
