The glamping tents don’t have keys or much security, so you’ll need to be careful about where you leave your belongings. I still felt pretty safe as a young woman. It’s an easy walk to lots of places, and the other guests were somewhat social while respecting quiet hours. A cool setup, with several sinks and showers and really good water pressure.

The service team was always helpful, and the rooms and common areas were cleaned every day. The kitchen was spotless and the bathrooms spacious. We had a very nice stay at Tamahostel. The other guests were mostly around 25-40, though that didn’t bother us.

Tamahostel was a great stay. The place is clean and well organized, and the atmosphere is lovely. You’re only a short walk from the beach. For a hostel, the service is very good. They also arrange yoga and surf lessons, transportation, and tours. I’d definitely recommend it.

The location works well, far enough from the center to avoid the noise but still an easy walk away. I saw some complaints about the rooms and showers, but for the nightly price, I thought the service was really nice. People were respectful during my stay.

I keep coming back to write this because I’ve seen the owner, Simone, delete negative reviews about the hostel over the past couple of years. Before I stayed, I’d read a few accounts of problems that have since disappeared. While I was there, a man brought a woman back from a nightclub in town, and they hooked up on a hostel bed while several other people were trying to sleep. The next morning, Simone did nothing except insist that the new “guest” pay. I left soon after. There’s a lot of shady stuff here, be careful.
