Tamarindo Backpackers

It has a laid-back feel, with room to relax or spend time with people if you’re in the mood. The staff are super friendly and help with whatever you need, and you’re sure to meet interesting people. Even far from home, the hostel makes you feel at home. I’d especially recommend surf lessons with marco, who’s an incredible person. Definitely the place to stay in tamarindo 🤙🏽

I kept extending my stay because I didn’t want to leave. The people are amazing, and the hostel felt like a home. Gracias a Tammy, George, Marco, Anna, y todos los voluntarios. I’ll be back! 💕 It’s a quick walk up the hill from the main road and then just a few more steps to the beach. The dorms have great AC, the WiFi works well for remote work, and the kitchen is super clean. Free coffee is made by the night guard every morning. It’s not a party hostel, which suited me, but the bars are close enough to go out and still get good sleep on the walk back. If you want a place that feels like home, book it. If you just want to be another guest, it may not be for you.

The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen has everything you need. It’s close enough to the action that you won’t miss out, but far enough from the party noise to sleep well. Big thanks to Loz and Alana for making my stay memorable. I’d definitely recommend it.

The hospitality made this place feel like family, and Marco goes out of his way to welcome you and share useful information about what you’re interested in nearby. I’ve stayed in hostels around the world, and this is my favorite so far. The staff are great, the rooms are clean and well kept, and the kitchen has everything you need. You can walk to surfing, groceries, restaurants, dancing, and more, while still being just outside the noise of party town.
