The turtle tour was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so I’d definitely book it. The hotel staff arranged all our extra tours, and our canoe guide Andy met us at the port on the other side and walked us through the whole process. We also had a spectacular view, great service, and working AC and showers.

Jálmar was especially accommodating, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. The location made it easy to explore town, with no need to use a “lancha” to get around, while still offering comforts I’d expect at pricier places. Our room was clean and well maintained, and the sunset was awesome. The air conditioning was a big plus. Downstairs, the restaurant and bakery were incredible. The bread alone made the trip worthwhile, and I highly recommend the Rice with Shrimp. Check the 360° photos for a better sense of what’s offered.

The staff were nice, and breakfast was good. Our room was pleasant and had air conditioning. The hot water wasn’t working, but we got a river-view room for free, so I can’t complain :)

We had breakfast on an excellent spot along the main drag, with friendly staff. The rooms were very clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the deck looked out over the river.
