Lapa Verde Caribbean Paradise

The staff made our stay feel unforgettable. They were so welcoming that we almost felt like part of a big family, and they went out of their way for us. Our three-year-old loves apples and apple juice, so they got some for her. Even with a toddler and all the noise, they seemed genuinely happy to have us, and we really appreciated it. The rooms were beautiful and spacious, with a spectacular view, and room service was thoughtful. The pool was fun for all of us. Tortuguero itself is incredible, with so much to explore, but we also found the quiet remarkable. We stayed six nights and were so sad to leave.

We saw lots of animals in the lovely garden, and the rainforest begins right on the property. They provide maps, and the lodge’s guides can take you on unforgettable tours. It sits right on the Tortugero River, with clean, spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The staff were friendly, committed, and professional, and made us feel welcome. Bring a big appetite for the restaurant’s great selection of delicious local and international dishes. A great place to stay.

The food was outstanding, fresh, and delicious, with a nicely varied menu. The staff were so friendly and personable. They even remembered our names and who could eat what at each meal. My daughters and I were extremely happy here. I’d asked my agent for a boutique lodge with an à la carte menu rather than a buffet, and they delivered exactly that. The rooms were gorgeous, clean, white, and comfortable inside, with bright, colorful, fresh-looking exteriors.

The lodge was beautiful, and we felt close to nature there. The staff were polite and attentive. It’s a little way from the village, though, so if your tour meets at the main harbor, you’ll need a water taxi. They have staff shuttles, but they’re few and far between.
