Hotel Canto de Ballenas

The grounds were lovely, with butterflies and a few Iguanas around. We spent a week here, though the room was very hot without AC. At night, mosquitoes and noseeums were a real problem, since there was no net and the walls had holes. They were thin too, so we heard a lot from other rooms. Breakfast was just okay, and the service was much the same.

The gardens are beautiful, and it’s a nice place, but the rooms don’t offer much privacy since you can hear people next door. It has a rustic feel and a few details could use attention. There’s no TV or hot water, though hot water wasn’t really necessary.

The location is handy, very close to the National Park entrance, though finding the place is tricky. There’s no sign and the street is almost invisible. The rooms are wooden and rustic, with no TV or hot water. It works if you mainly need somewhere to sleep. The woman at reception and in the kitchen was very helpful, even making us breakfast at 6 am.

A bit more cleaning and maintenance would make this place much better. My room had an unpleasant smell, and the shower was leaking. Still, it’s a nice, laid-back spot.
