Hotel E Ordoño

On our Cubatour excursion, we spent a night here, listed as "Gebria overnight." They offered a chilled towel and a non-alcoholic cocktail when we arrived, and the service was great. The rooms on the third floor have windows set too high for a view, but the rooftop seating area makes up for it with stunning views. The rooms are very nice, the shower is amazing, and dinner is good. Try the pumpkin soup, it's really nice.

The location's great for walking around, and the rooms were spacious enough for two and clean. I loved the place. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the bar and food were great.

The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, the food and drinks are good, and the bilingual staff are especially helpful. The wifi was a little frustratingly slow, but I'd happily come back again and again. A wonderful place to stay in a wonderful town.

For a quiet getaway with local family restaurants and old Spanish elegance, I'd choose Gibara over the busy scene in Guardelavaca. Ordono is a beautifully restored Spanish mansion and one of the best places to stay in eastern Cuba, perhaps all of Cuba. It opened three years ago, when Gibara's hotel options were still limited. After a long trip to this small seaside community, they greet you with a cool towel and refreshing drink. The rooms are elegant, the staff unusually attentive, and staying here feels like a trip back to old-world Spain in a small fishing village. I'd give the rooms an A. This isn't the all-inclusive noisy buffet and bar experience, so skip Ordono if that's what you're after. When you arrive, say hello to Hector at the front desk and ask him to book you a hiking guide to the nearby underground caves.
