The location is hard to beat, and the price to quality ratio works well. I stayed four nights. The rooms aren't exactly up to date, but they're well furnished and clean. Staff were friendly and very helpful; many speak a little German, and English is no problem. Breakfast is excellent, better than what some hotels in Europe manage. This hotel has earned its stars.

I give all the staff ten out of ten, especially the director, Maria Antonia, who is from the Balearic Islands. She has a real advantage from her Mallorcan background. Mallorca is a major tourist destination that contributes a lot to state coffers and is also a model for tourism. Iberostar owners, don't waste this intelligent and beautiful woman's talents. I came here after Central Park was closed and they suggested another 5-star hotel. Given the welcome I received, I don't regret choosing it. Mold bothers the nouveau riche, apparently people who are used to smelling asphalt and exhaust fumes. I respect that. I do think it's a shame the Cuban government hasn't learned more about how to treat tourists. In Mallorca you can invite whoever you want to your room. Now it seems that's possible here for an extra charge, but it's a hidden scam and false modesty, hardly socialist. In Spain, Franco opened the door to bikini and party tourism despite being a Catholic nationalist. As long as the tourist pays, "arriberci Roma" (Up with Rome). I've been visiting Cuba for 20 years. Beautiful hotel!

You can walk everywhere from this excellent hotel, which is close to the historic center. The facilities and service are very good.
