Gran Muthu Ensenada

Our first impression was very positive. The rooms are new, modern and elegant, and everyone we dealt with was kind and professional. Breakfast had lots of good options, the bar served a wide range of drinks, and the coffee was excellent. Westjet cancelled our flight back to Toronto while we were staying at Grand Memories, so they put us up here for one night. Even though we arrived at 4 a.m., the staff checked us in quickly, handled our bags, and served us well at the 24-hour snack bar. The beach is the drawback, with only a short stretch you can walk and some rocky patches. From what we saw, this hotel is a step above Grand Memories and worth the extra cost. I’d consider coming back. Muchas gracias por todo!

After three weeks here, I’m sad to be leaving. I’ve stayed at a lot of Cuban resorts, and this is the best so far. The staff have been amazing, and I feel like I’m leaving behind a bunch of new friends. It’s a new place, so the rooms are clean and comfortable. The shower had reliable hot water, and even the Wi-Fi worked in my room. Food was what you’d expect with shortages, but they try hard; some meals were surprisingly good, and yes, they had eggs every day. If someone’s disappointed, I reckon they should’ve spent a bit more and gone to another country. I’ll definitely return. This is the first review I’ve ever written, which says how impressed I was.

Cuba is beautiful, but after this trip I don’t think I’ll come back. The resort itself looks lovely, and most of the staff were wonderful. Still, the food was so disappointing that it wasn’t even edible to us. We were given the same meals twice a day for the whole stay, and my husband and I got food poisoning on our last day. They’d also closed most of the restaurants and activities because they didn’t have enough rooms occupied. The beach was filthy with rubbish everywhere, and one guest even found a syringe. Lots of people left early or tried to.

The people here are so friendly and always ready to help, and the service is great. This is the best resort in Holguín. It’s less than a year old, with lovely rooms, excellent beds and no smell in the rooms. The pools are awesome. We’ll definitely be back!
