I used to think this place was spectacular, but for the past few months I've been getting rooms with issues. This time the bathtub was clogged, the shower partly clogged with poor water pressure, and the hairdryer was burned out. I didn't complain at first, but mentioned it so there'd be no trouble at checkout. The housekeeper said they already knew. It makes me wonder if I get that room because we're Cuban, though I don't want to speculate. The manager used to be someone else, and the service was excellent then. I'm a regular, so it's a shame, but I can't recommend it anymore. There are other hotels in Santa Clara where service is the same no matter who you are or where you're from.

We found all kinds of bugs when we arrived in the morning, and that night we woke with bedbug bites. We probably took some home in our suitcase, which is awful to think about with clothes infested. In Spain, health authorities would close this place, but here it's still open and nobody seems to care. Santa Clara itself isn't really worth an overnight stay either. Service was incredibly slow, even though the hotel was empty except for us.

The hotel bar was closed in the afternoon, so I couldn't even buy a bottle of water. At check-in, we spotted what looked like termites at the entrance to our room. The next morning I woke with at least 25-30 bites on my side. I'm no expert, but I was told they were bedbug bites, so they could have charged extra for such a big insect population. When I told reception, they didn't even offer ointment or an antihistamine.

The room was comfortable, the bathroom spotless, and the location really good. Breakfast was very good too. Odalis and Randy especially made the service excellent.
