Getting around is easy from here, with plenty of evening activities within walking distance and nearby places reachable by transport. The staff are always there if you need support, and they're fantastic. Breakfast is tasty and served on time, and the rooms are consistently clean. For me, this is the best place to stay in Santiago. Stay here.
The food service and the clean rooms both helped make our stay lovely, along with every one of the service ladies. I've stayed at several Santiago hotels, including Imperial and Casa Granda, and none came close to Hostal Heredia. If you're choosing somewhere to stay in Santiago, this is the place. The breakfast was very good, so be sure to enjoy it. We had a wonderful stay in Santiago, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable.
We could get to the sightseeing areas easily from this hostel, and it was easy to find. Inside, it felt warm and welcoming, almost like home, and everything was clean. The staff were wonderful and felt like family by the time we left. We stayed nearly a week ago, and we're still talking about how fantastic it was. The best place to stay in Santiago de Cuba.
We ended up leaving after just one of our three nights. The staff seemed completely unable to understand our concerns and weren't willing to help. We couldn't sleep at all because of the street noise, and neither the doors nor the windows shut properly. Breakfast was the worst we had on our whole trip to Cuba. We really can't understand the positive reviews.
