Guest House Soncent

I always feel at ease here, and Ms. Marcelina does her best to meet your needs. I’d recommend it.

Getting around from here is convenient, with the town centre and beach nearby, but the stay had a lot of problems. There are 56 steps, including two outdoor staircases, so luggage is hard to carry. The rooms are dim and face a central light well, where you hear staff going between floors, conversations, and the owner's dog. The sinks were clogged and the water came out as a very thin trickle. When we pointed out the blockage, the owner was displeased and insisted on checking it herself, though the evidence was plain. Wi-Fi only worked on the terrace. Breakfast was very sparse, with each slice of ham, bread, and butter counted. We asked for more bread and jam and were refused. We really don't recommend this guesthouse.

Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were warm and always willing to help. Our room was clean, the hotel is in a very good location, and the shower had hot water. Thanks to Marcelina and the whole team for everything!

The rooftop terrace is a lovely spot, and Wi-Fi works throughout. The room was a little dark because its window faced the patio. The owner was very kind and welcoming, and the guesthouse is in a quiet area near central Mindelo.
