Pont d'Agua Hotel

Really good food, and the staff are great too. Best place in Mindelo 👍😊

We got delicious food, but the service was nowhere near what I'd expect from a fine dining restaurant. That kind of place should offer hospitality that adds to the meal, along with the food and decor. Instead, the waitress kept serving us with a closed hand, reaching across our bodies and almost touching my wife's gorgeous 😍 breast. This establishment clearly doesn't understand fine dining service.

The breakfast area under the roof feels dangerous. The wooden beams seem undersized and have worrying cracks, and I fear the roof could collapse in heavy rain. Elsewhere, the new guest room beside the restaurant is finished below standard, and another bathroom smells horrible and is completely outdated. First impressions are okay, but many of the young servers seem inexperienced. It feels like a case of the Belgian owners investing as little as possible to maximize profit.

After that lunch, we were seriously ill for a week. A laboratory in Holland told us it was the shigellosis bacterium. I emailed but got no reply. Be prepared.
