The room was perfectly clean and did the job for one night, but the balcony we booked wasn't there. There was also confusion over our request for twin beds, and we got a double instead, though they fixed that quickly. I had a cold shower before the hot water finally came through, which took over 5 minutes. Breakfast was fine, and checkout and the taxi we requested went great.
The owner couple were very friendly, and breakfast was French style. We had two rooms: one was quiet and had a good climate, just right. The other was on the top floor under the roof. Avoid that floor if you don't like intense heat or loud city music going all night.
The people looking after the place were really nice. It's a good hotel, though about 40m from the center on foot. If you plan to be out there after sunset, I'd arrange a taxi to be on the safe side.

In 2014, a double room with breakfast cost 4000 Escudos, circa 40€, per night. It was the cheapest hotel or bed-and-breakfast I could find in town, yet its qualities were well beyond many others. The owners and staff were lovely, the facilities worked well and were very clean, and the food and drinks were great and inexpensive. Serge, the owner, offered amazing, clear tips and directions about the town, island, and country. The owners also run a little musical cafe beside the hotel with Tcheka (see "Ka Tcheka"), where some awesome local musicians come to play. Arriving at night is no problem at all.
