B&B Coração Ponta do Sol

After long walks in the mountains, it was great to cool off with a swim in the pool. Our spacious room was comfortable and very clean, and the WiFi worked well. Breakfast had a delicious range of choices. The location is great, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. Hosts Wim and Hilde were especially friendly and available with information, and they speak many languages. I have nothing negative to say and would definitely come back. Highly recommend this lovely place.

The basement is a lovely place to spend time, whether by the pool, reading, playing games, or just sitting and enjoying the cool. Wim and Hilde, the Belgian owners, know plenty about the island and where to go, and their friendly hospitality made us feel at home. We arrived after a stay in nature and found a luxurious B&B, with beautiful rooms and a bathroom that had a wonderful, warm, strong shower. The setting in front of the ocean is beautiful, and I’d gladly return.

Wim, Hilde, and their staff helped us arrange a wonderful stay in Santo Antao. The room was very nice, with a sea view, and breakfast was generous. The swimming pool with its bar is a lovely extra for this area. Excellent hotel and wonderful staff!

The owners were friendly and helpful, and our room was spacious with a terrace and good beds, though the pillows were too fluffy for us. Breakfast was fine, nothing special, and neither was the breakfast area. There’s a pool with an honesty bar and a leisure room. Fontainhas is close, a nice walk of less than an hour each way. You can see the sea, though it wasn’t what I’d call a charming view. The room got too hot, even with both windows open, and there was no air conditioning or WiFi. The decor and atmosphere felt a bit cold to us, though that’s a matter of taste. It’s beside the main cobbled road, so passing cars can be noisy. There aren’t many at night, but bring earplugs if noise bothers you. Ponta do Sol didn’t charm us. Book dinner ahead, as there aren’t many restaurants. Caleta is the best option.
