Casa Marisa

Our luggage didn’t arrive with us on the flight to Fogo, but the owner, Mustafa, generously helped us and made it possible for us to climb the Fogo the next day. A heartfelt thanks to him. Casa Marisa 2.0 is a wonderful base for hiking and exploring around the volcano. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food is delicious. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Fogo!

Waking up in a beautiful cabin with that breathtaking volcano view was such a surprise. There’s also a rooftop space with a hammock where you can relax and take in the surroundings. The owner has thoughtfully arranged a garden full of different cacti and succulents, with a charming gazebo where my morning coffee tasted perfect. I also loved the healthy food, prepared carefully with fresh, tasty local products. Gentle music from the speakers added to the peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. It’s a special place where you can slow down, disconnect, and feel calm. I’ll remember this stay for a long time.

The setting was stunning, with incredible, unobstructed views of the volcano. The food was consistently good and the service excellent throughout my stay. I had a wonderful time here and highly recommend it.

Mustafa and Marisa have made a real haven in the caldera, away from the main village. Each Rondel has an imaginative roof terrace with a hammock, great views of Pico do Fogo, and privacy for simply relaxing. It’s an amazing and unique place to stay.
