Curacao Suites Hotel

The location is excellent, just a couple of minutes from the floating bridge and the colorful buildings, a must for pictures or catching the sunset. Parking is on site. There aren’t many spaces, but we never had a problem during our four nights. My friend and I had a wonderful stay, and the staff were all extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Our room was set up for four with two beds, but there were just the two of us, so it felt huge. It had a nice-sized shower, double bathroom sink, another sink, and a mini fridge. Everything was clean and worked. The water pressure wasn’t very strong, but oh well. You can rent beach towels at the front desk, and free ice is available. There’s also a restaurant on the second floor. Highly recommend.

The location is central to everything and the price was low. People were very friendly and kind, and the food was good, but the hotel needs updating. There was a hallway leak, and a broken shower in one room meant I had to move. The new room was okay, though the cabinet was unstable and almost fell. There was only one U.S. plug outlet, so I needed another for my hearing aids and two phones. We improvised. I also needed washcloths, which aren’t culturally common, and requested a blanket for the bedding. They brought one.

The hotel is very close to everything, and it could be amazing if they invested in upgrading it. The pictures they posted don’t represent how it looks. The rooms are old and run down, and the bar staff member, a young short girl, was SUPER RUDE! The grey-haired guy at the front desk was so sweet and helped me with everything he could. His kindness is the only reason this hotel gets any stars. I was ready to cancel and stay somewhere else during my trip, but I stayed because of him. This place definitely needs a makeover.

The service was great, the price was right, and the rooftop restaurant had some very tasty Indian food. The rooms were a little run down, though, so it was only just worth the price. I ended up here at the last minute after Aqualectra held my electricity hostage (wait for that review!). I’d stay again, but not with any of my “choosy” family or friends.
