Christofinia Hotel

The location is great, but the restaurant experience could be much better. There’s nowhere to sit outside, and indoors it was noisy from the buffet and all the guests. One morning it smelled of gasoline in the restaurant, probably because the door to the parking lot was open. Breakfast could use more fruit and healthier choices, made-to-order omelets, and better juice and coffee. Cups and other utensils are plastic. The beach towels are tiny and feel cheap, and the gym is a disaster. The staff weren’t very friendly or helpful either. For example, they couldn’t help me with the bus timetable. It would also be nice if the hotel offered classes for adults, like yoga.

The cleaners did a good job and were very friendly, which was the one bright spot. The reception service was a disaster whichever receptionist we dealt with. Breakfast was poor and exactly the same each day, while dinner was merely acceptable and nowhere near good quality. The hotel’s location is its only real advantage. We stayed five days with friends, and the rooms were in terrible condition, as the photos show. Maybe some rooms are better, but you can easily end up in one of the creepy, run-down ones if you’re unlucky. This was my eighth visit to Ayia Napa, and I’ve stayed at several hotels before. Cristofinia was on a completely different, much worse level. I definitely do not recommend it!

Every day the room smelled awful from the kitchen pipes, and the pool towels were dirty. The staff were unfriendly and rude from the start. What happened over dinner was humiliating. At check-in, staff told me three times that dinner was included with my reservation, which they recorded as half board, and issued the documents to match. The following evening, restaurant staff let me in without saying anything. Halfway through my meal, several of them came to my table demanding payment. I calmly asked to finish eating and said I’d bring my documents from the room, but they returned four more times and eventually escorted me to reception as if I’d done something wrong. At reception, they treated me like a liar and said I’d rushed in before anyone could tell me dinner wasn’t included. That wasn’t true. I showed them all my proof, but nobody apologized. Their mistake left me feeling humiliated. I absolutely don’t recommend staying here. They don’t respect guests, make their own mistakes your problem, and humiliate you instead of taking responsibility. I’ve never felt so disrespected at a hotel.

It looked better in the pictures than it was. The room wasn’t in the best condition, and it smelled awful every day because of the kitchen pipes. The towels were dirty too. Service wasn’t good: we waited almost 10 minutes for the woman who was meant to give us towels to get up from the sofa where she was scrolling on her phone, and she was very rude. I absolutely don’t recommend staying here.
