The food and rooms were horrible, and the music went on until a ridiculous hour. Everything cost extra, including 20 euros for a remote or a safe that a 10-year-old could open. The fridge was mouldy. The cleaner let herself into our room and watched us sleeping; on the last day I saw her taking my oral electric toothbrush. When I confronted her, she threw it in the bin. I’d never go back. Don’t waste your money.

The rooms were in a terrible state: ants in them, three cockroaches in one room, dirty, itchy beds and sheets that felt diseased. The air conditioning was about 45 years old, very noisy, gave everyone sore throats and croaky voices, and when it broke it nearly fell on my friend’s head while he was in bed. Cleaners only came around three days out of seven. They admitted stealing my speakers, and I had to meet a random man in the street to get them back, with loose screws in them. A maintenance man came into my friend’s room uninvited to fix the air con while she and her friends were asleep. She was in her underwear because of the heat, and woke to find him standing over her, so she was understandably worried he might have taken photos. There were six proper beds, three sofa beds and three rusty metal Z-beds in total. Some people paid 625 pounds and still didn’t get a bed. We paid 625 pounds too, though people we knew paid less, including someone who paid 510 pounds for two weeks. We booked four rooms and were given only three. Staff were disgustingly rude, and the manager was never around. Complaints led nowhere. The 18/30 reps were suggestive, inappropriate and unprofessional, and manipulatively took 230 pounds from all of us. Music blared from 10 a.m. all day, so sleeping was impossible. My friend cut his toe deeply on the pool tiles. The 18/30 reps and Thomas Cook showed no care for customers. We also have video of a staff member throttling my friend. Worst holiday of my life.

There wasn’t a suitable room for me, my partner and the many other people there. The reception area smelled bad. I paid more than 300 pounds per person, then had to find another hotel myself in the middle of the night, and this hotel refused to refund me. Shit hotel. Never again.

A good choice for a group looking for nightlife, but I wouldn’t suggest it for families.
