Aquamare Beach Hotel & Spa

Everything else was perfection. Eva at reception was very kind and looked after us, and chef Nikos and his team deserve lots of credit for the magic they make in the kitchen. Bellissimo! I took off one star because the massage therapy centre felt like a scam. They promised a lot, but what I received was rubbish. They also quoted one price when I booked, then changed the terms and price after providing the rubbish therapy.

We were part of a large wedding group and had a nice stay overall. The staff were great, but we believe the cleaners stole a pair of expensive trainers from our room. We hadn't left any money out, and the trainers had stayed in the room since we arrived. We reported it twice, but nothing was done, and reception didn't even record it.

The welcome from everyone was incredible, from reception and housekeeping to the waiters, bar staff, and managers. Marina, Flex, and both Anna's looked after us so well. I can't remember everyone's names, but every single person was wonderful. The hotel was beautiful, the food was amazing, and we loved the cocktails too. This was our second visit, and I'd absolutely come back and recommend the place again and again :)

Our room was spacious and clean. The staff put a few drinks in the fridge for free on the first night, but we expected them to be topped up until someone told us otherwise. We ended up buying bottles at a supermarket. We booked bed and breakfast, so didn't eat at the hotel's restaurant. Breakfast was alright, with a full English, pastries, fruit, cereal, and porridge. Our room looked out over the pretty mountains rather than the sea, but the road below was noisy at night, especially on weekends. Paphos town is a bit far to walk to, particularly in the blazing sun. A six-minute taxi ride cost about £15, so we tried not to go into town too often, even though the best restaurants are there. We did enjoy meals at Phuket Thai Restaurant and Chloe's Chinese Restaurant, and found a great little dessert shop with wonderful ice cream. A regular shuttle bus into town would have been a much appreciated perk.
