George and George managed the property, and both were lovely, helpful people with loads of local knowledge. I can't thank them enough and hope to return someday, though for now it's time to make tracks. The village surprised me with its facilities, including a shop, two tavernas, a wine bar, a hotel restaurant, a coffee shop, and an ice cream shop. The few people who live there year round were friendly and welcoming. I stayed in this house for close to 10 months and loved its character: traditional building, original features, and a real atmosphere shared with the village. It was well equipped, with a courtyard made for relaxing, eating, or having people over. Summer stayed cool without air conditioning, while winter meant sitting by the real fire. Winter was my favourite, with fresh, cold mornings and evenings. A few nights brought 30 to 40 mm of snow, and I made a hasty 30-minute dash up to Troodos. The house is well placed, with breathtaking views of the Troodos range to the north, and sensational drives of about 30 minutes to Limassol or Troodos. Highly recommended for all its character, mystery, and dark atmosphere on cold winter nights. Five stars all the way.

The air is fresh and the tea is excellent. There's a tavern for meals, and you can buy tea and locally made alcoholic drinks to take home. It seems quite possible that none of the locals will speak English.
