There weren’t many people, and parking was free. The place has a kitchen, draft beer, and nice staff. We visited with our six-year-old, who swims, so the lack of a shallow pool was okay for her.

The place is in really bad shape, smelly and dirty, and nothing like the photos. The reception is piled with rubbish, and damp has left the walls falling apart.

You definitely need a car here. It’s so remote, and there isn’t anyone on site to call if something isn’t right. The poolside bar is open, but the young women working there seemed more interested in chatting than keeping the area as it should be. The place is reasonably priced, so I wasn’t expecting the Ritz, but it needs some care: cracked paving, broken plant pots, and dated paintwork. The complex is okay, and the rooms are clean, a good size, and fine for families, though nothing fancy. We booked four nights, and that felt like enough. If you want a very quiet break, it could suit you. If you want even a little activity, it probably won’t. I’m being honest because this is my once-a-year holiday, and I want it to match what I imagine before I arrive. The accommodation itself was fine, but I’d give the place 6 out of 10.

The building is an interesting part of the local landscape, and there’s a pool. We paid $844 through Airbnb for a two-bedroom place for 13 days in October. The kitchen was fully equipped, though the bathroom had a couple of minor problems, a blocked toilet and a crack in the bathtub. We told the local maintenance team, and they fixed both to our satisfaction. Larnaca is only a few minutes away. I’d recommend Cyprus for diving and for tourist spots that aren’t as crowded as those in Spain. Check out Zenobia diving.

The internet was abysmal, the pool was polluted, and there’s little here beyond the flats. It is very quiet, but also miles from the nearest town and kilometres from the nearest beach. Ant colonies, dormice, and indifferent cats are among the other attractions. Peeling walls and cracked pavement make the lack of management pretty clear.
