Enkaya Hotel

The room was superb, with a comfortable bed, good air conditioning, and no street noise at night. The bathroom layout was a small frustration, though, since the toilet lid wouldn’t stay up while using it. The hotel itself is majestic and spotless, and the location makes it easy to explore this lovely area on foot. There’s plenty to see during the day and lots of nightlife. Necdet, the owner, looked after us personally and was such a kind man. He even drove us to the airport when we left. Highly recommend staying here.

I’d let them know when I booked through booking that I’d be checking in late, and they confirmed my reservation. When I got there, they’d given my room away and had nothing free, so they offered me a place to sleep in reception. Luckily, another hotel within walking distance had a room available. Stay away from this place!

We checked out after the second night, but they refused to refund the third, pointing to a “no refunds” sign. There’s no parking despite the listing, and the area felt sketchy. I don’t understand the good rating. Avoid it. The noise was awful: the receptionist talked all night, cars and drunk people could be heard outside, and guests partied inside until 5 a.m. When we complained, staff said we were unlucky to have come at the same time as noisy guests. The room heaters had to be switched on 20 minutes before washing, but only one of the three we booked worked. After we changed rooms, the next one had neither a working heater nor a working light. None of the showers had doors, all the rails were broken, and the toilet hadn’t been cleaned properly.

I’ve stayed in similar hotels in 69 countries, and this was the worst. The breakfast was poor, the towels were dirty, and we got wrong information and no respect. They even switched off the electricity in the morning to save money. And it still costs 50 euro for two.
