Royiatiko Hotel

The parking was a real mess. The valets were rude and impatient, and on weekends they overfill the car park to make more money. That can leave your car boxed in and make it harder to get around. The hotel does have a basic breakfast. It's in a nice spot in Nicosia's old town, within easy walking distance of several hotspots. The gym is much better equipped than at other hotels, and there's also a pool and a bar that stays open late.

It didn't feel worth the price. The room was very outdated, with lots of marks on the furniture, and the bathroom wasn't very clean. The TV was a joke, no bigger than my computer screen at home. We asked for extra pillows, but there weren't any, even though the hotel was almost empty. The pool wasn't open because it was supposedly too early for Cyprus. It was 30 degrees, and you're receiving tourists...

I wouldn't pick another hotel for the service and how well they cover the basics. The team is really friendly, and breakfast on the pool terrace is a nice touch. It’s also ideally placed for seeing the city, with the intercity bus stop nearby and Ledra Street for crossing the border close by. Just don’t come expecting a luxury resort.

The location and service are good, and it’s a decent hotel, but the rooms badly need updating. My mattress was uncomfortable, the empty minibar fridge smelled awful, and the air vents didn’t work. The TV was tiny, around 20 inches, with just five channels. I’d say it’s fine for a night or two, but not longer. There are nearby hotels with much better rooms for about the same price.
