Samet was such a polite waiter, and the breakfast buffet was very good. The whole breakfast team, including the managers, chefs and waiters, were nice, respectful and welcoming. Dinner was a very different experience. We checked in on the 4th of February and stayed until the 7th, and the food was warm rather than hot each evening. I told them from the first day, but the dinner team didn’t seem to care. They put the food on the table and left without checking how it was or asking if we needed ketchup for the fries or dressing for the salads. We arrived at about 10:20 p.m. on the 4th and had a starter and main course. Since they were closing at 11, we understood when the waiter offered to send dessert to our room. We agreed, but after the manager said something to the waiter, the dessert never arrived. Breakfast and dinner were included in our booking. My daughter is four, but there was no food for kids, so she just had chips. I’d like the customer relations team to take action.

When we got sick, we asked if they could prepare a special meal. They took great care with it and brought it to our room very quickly, which we really appreciated. The hotel staff were extremely kind and helpful, and the casino team were just as wonderful. We were very satisfied with our stay. The casino is large and well organized, and I’d highly recommend it.

The one complication is that the hotel is on the Turkish side. To go to the Greek side, you have to pass through passport control each time. Even so, it’s a fantastic hotel, with perfect service, great cleanliness and an amazing breakfast. I recommend it.

I picked this place because it sits between the airport and the center, but it isn’t in central Nicosia, so getting downtown means taking a taxi. The price feels too high for what you get, and I wouldn’t stay here again.

At Merit Hotel, the friendly staff are attentive and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Everything felt welcoming, and the amenities were well maintained. Service was excellent throughout, while the location made it easy to enjoy the surrounding area. A smooth, enjoyable stay that I’d highly recommend.
