The housekeeping was so thorough I couldn’t find a single thing to fault. Every staff member was kind and ready to help with any request. Sabir, Tarik, Dogan and the F&B manager especially stood out for their kindness, attentiveness, and upbeat energy. Thanks for making our short visit count. The room I was given after paying an extra €70 for a King Suite was in really poor shape. The bath panel was missing, the jacuzzi controls didn’t work, there was no toilet roll, the mirror table was cracked, the plants were dead, the duvet was too small for the mattress, and someone had put an outdoor heater inside. I reported it all straight away, and they had to send a technician to fix basic problems. At that price, it’s nowhere near acceptable. Before travelling, I’d asked for a jacuzzi room. The hotel said in writing to book a standard room online and upgrade on arrival, and told me nothing else was needed when I checked whether they needed anything to secure it. But once I arrived, they said the room had gone to someone else because I “didn’t confirm earlier”, though nobody had asked me to confirm again. It took a long discussion before I was charged extra for the suite. The communication and room standards were extremely disappointing. I wouldn’t stay here again.

After two weeks here, I wouldn’t come back. North Nicosia has little to do, and I’d have been better off staying near the border. The hotel sits in the middle of a rundown neighbourhood, and the location was terrible. Staff communication was difficult because of the language barrier, and the menu had only four options. When I called reception about very loud music that went on until 1 a.m., they hung up on me several times. I also felt the rooms were unsafe. Two pin European plugs had been forced into three pin UK sockets, which seemed like a fire hazard. The lamp cable had been cut and twisted back together with wires exposed, and our room was missing a fire alarm with more exposed wires. The bathroom floor was dangerously slippery.

I’m from the UK and recently stayed here for two days. They charge £130 a night and call it a three-star hotel, but in my view it doesn’t meet international three-star standards. The facilities felt like one-star while the price was like a three-star hotel. For £130 a night, I’d expect facilities more like an international hotel. The food and rooms weren’t good enough for what they charged, and there was a language barrier, with only one or two staff members speaking English during my stay. I don’t have a personal issue with the hotel. I’m just sharing my experience to make people travelling from abroad aware.
