Pagona Hotel Apartments

We were thrown out in the middle of the night during peak season, with little real chance of finding somewhere else. We had to book a new hotel straight away at a much higher cost, while feeling unsafe and threatened. It was deeply stressful for the two of us, and for a family with children it could have been a disaster. I absolutely don’t recommend this hotel. There was no respect for guests, and the owner threatened us, cut our electricity, refused to call police and behaved in a discriminatory way. This isn’t somewhere you can feel safe. We stayed at Pagona Holiday Apartments in August 2025. On August 12th at 22:07, we briefly walked through the children’s paddling pool to cool off in the heat. We weren’t swimming, just passing through for a moment. The owner didn’t confront us at the pool. He stopped us later at our room entrance, then ordered us to leave within an hour, “with the clock ticking.” He repeatedly shouted “GET OUT!” and cut off our electricity. He threatened to call security. When I asked him to call the police, he refused and said the police would be on his side because he was local. We speak fluent English, were sober and calm, and tried to resolve things rationally. The owner was the one who escalated the situation. Booking.com confirmed the recordings from that night. During a call with their consultant, the owner was recorded clearly threatening and shouting at us and acting aggressively. After reviewing the recordings, Booking.com acknowledged our complaint, refunded the unused nights and covered the difference in the cost of our new accommodation. To us, that confirmed he had no legal right to evict us and that we were right. His comments about our nationality and age also included what felt like discrimination. He even compared us to Afghans in a derogatory way.
