E-Hotel

The room was clean and spacious, and for a one-night stay before our early flight from Larnaca, it worked out fine and was fairly priced. The lobby has been renovated and looks great. The room itself felt a bit dated, though, and the rooms and corridors could really use a refresh.

The food and service were good, and the pool was large and clean. Parking took us a little while to find when we arrived. It’s on the left along a narrow road, but once we found it there was plenty of space. A man greeted us at reception. He was very nice, though communicating in English was difficult. The one thing that really bothered me was paying 5 euro for water. That’s outrageous.

The first night was already a mess: water leaked from the bathroom ceiling, and at midnight we had to move villas with our small child. We’d booked a villa with a private pool for privacy and some luxury, but the place was dirty and run down. There were ants in the room, the bed linen wasn’t changed during our 10 days, and towels were often missing. Staff were unhelpful and seemed uninterested. Twice, chlorine was poured into our private pool right in front of us, leaving it unusable for at least two hours each time. Breakfast had very little choice, missing cutlery, and no room for our family to sit together. In the evenings, food was often gone after 9 pm. It was absolutely not worth the money. We booked through a reputable travel agency, and they should take this hotel out of their portfolio. Renovation won’t solve it, the problems go much deeper.

There’s a lot of potential here, but poor management and upkeep are getting in the way. The spa wasn’t operating, there were no pool towels one morning, and some fitness room equipment was broken and could even be dangerous. We stayed in a villa with a small detached pool. The first one had a loud engine noise coming from the walls every few minutes, so they moved us to another villa. The location is quiet and close to the sea, with a few restaurants and bars within walking distance. Breakfast was reasonable. We tried to enjoy our stay, but we’ll probably avoid booking EHotel in the near future.
